Galesburg Public Library Teen Scene
There was some intense competition at GPL’s teens-only Yu-Gi-Oh tournament this past Saturday.  If you want to get in on the action, we’ll be hosting another Yu-Gi-Oh free-play night on Thursday, Feb. 20th. No registration required — just bring your cards and duel!

Mmmmmmm…. delicious nightlock cake.  GPL teens ate well at our after-hours Catching Fire lock-in last weekend.  Can’t wait for the movie release!

Happy Halloween from GPL!  Check out some photos from Tuesday’s “Trolls and Treats” party, where our Teen Advisory Board helped kids decorate troll dolls & make (and eat!) marshmallow trolls.

It’s here!!!!  Happy day!

Zombie Bookends
From Trend Hunter:

If you’re someone who loves undead-inspired novels or even movies, these ends would serve well in your home to hold up your book or DVD collections. These bookends appear to be acting out a zombie chase. One end is of a scary zombie walking towards the books. The other features a lady running for her life (and away from the books) to escape the undead monster.
The characters are made out of steel, so in addition to being cool home decorations, they also take care of your books. These zombie bookends would also make great Halloween decorations to fit with a scary and haunting theme

Just in time for Halloween… I think we could use a couple sets of these in the Teen Scene, hmmm?

CHOOSE YOUR OWN APOCALPYSE

Young adult literature is full of apocalyptic goodness. Whichever path you take, you’re sure to find a story that speaks to you.

I made this to go with my library’s Teen Read Week programming. You can read more about all the apocalyptic fun here
